How can anyone agree with what’s happening to America? We keep hearing from the current administration that it is corporate greed that has driven jobs away from our shores. We hear how it is the greed of the big bankers that have caused this economy to fail so badly. We’ve all heard that the recession is the result of the Bush administration. Let’s consider the facts:
The greed shown has not been from the corporations but from the unions and their demand for higher and higher benefits that have driven jobs offshore. The public demands low prices, yet the cost of domestic manufacturing keeps going up. The result is more and more Chinese jobs. The GM and Chrysler bailouts showed clearly who was more powerful, the companies were bankrupt, the stockholders were ignored and the union was awarded the leftovers.
The big banks are not the ones who caused the housing failure that started all this, are we forgetting Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? The crime is that they are still doing the same thing and squandering more and more taxpayer money as a result. Of course those in charge of oversight of Fannie and Freddie are the same ones who blocked an attempt to investigate and regulate them before the crash. (Dodd, Frank and Waters.eg)
Bush’s administration didn’t create the deficit we are now facing. Yes he allowed over spending to occur, but the bottom line is that the President either veto’s or approves spending bills, an area he definitely showed weakness in. The Congress is the only body that can initiate federal spending, and who was in charge of the Congress for the last two years of the “Bush administration?
My father was a staunch supporter of unions all his working life, yet he understood and conveyed the fact that there would come a time when the unions would become so powerful that they would stifle the ability of companies to even earn a profit. Before the 1955 merger of the AFL and CIO, the government insisted on the purge of several communists from the leadership of at least dozen smaller unions. Sorrowfully The Labor Unions have been a prime target for those who would corrupt for personal gain and for the Communist activists in America, the good people who made up the membership have been used and abused by a few corrupt individuals and organizations. Has anything changed, are the Locals actually working for their membership or their political cronies? It seems who ever brings the most money to the table in an election controls the eventual outcome and potentially the candidate. Take the time to look into where the money comes from for the election of some of these people and the control exercised over those who receive it.
We have also heard so much about the surplus inherited by the Bush administration. Ask yourself once again, who was in charge of the Congress during the last two years of the Clinton presidency?
